This is not a religious post but about the seamless and effective management of a religious place.
I was in Ayodhya last week and was amazed by how efficiently and effectively the entire place works. Having been to other high-traffic temple towns, the difference is stark and a pleasant experience.
Right from the entrance to the complex to the viewing of the idol, the process has been set up extremely well.
There are no touts, no intermediaries, and no vendors pushing articles of worship on your face.
The crowd management is extremely efficient (although I admit we went mid-week and not weekend) and there is no one to push you to move forward.
Once you enter the sanctum sanctorum, even when there are crowds, there is no pushing and shoving, no noise, just gentle indications to keep moving and even if you don’t you don’t get jostled around.
And for the special darshans, there are specified timings to collect the passes and that process is also conducted efficiently.
All this while, construction activity is going on a frenetic pace with workers equipped with safety tools and measures. They ensure that the movement of the devotees does not hamper their work or they do not hamper the devotee movement.
And with QR codes all over the place, anyone wanting to donate can do it electronically and seamlessly.
I am sure enormous planning has gone into this entire process and the Administrators as well as the Government need to be complimented for a seamless experience for the devotees.
